Join me and my three dogs — Ash, Blackthorn, and Willow — on a 6-mile hike through the beautiful landscapes of Orton, Cumbria, in search of ancient stones, wild places, and old folklore. In this video, we set out from Orton village to find the mysterious Thunderstone — a stone said in folklore to have been created when lightning strikes the earth, believed by many cultures to hold protective or magical qualities. Thunderstones appear in myths across Britain and Europe, often linked to storms, sky gods, and the unseen world.

Our walk begins in Belstone village (Devon, UK), heading out across the moor to the mysterious Nine Maidens Stone Circle, one of Dartmoor’s iconic prehistoric sites. From there, we climb up to Belstone Tor, where dramatic stone formations and panoramic views await.
